Consumer Awareness

Awareness....it is key in the fight against obesity! as I do research I am truly amazed at what we are eating and the ads behind it. Subway sandwiches are jam packed with sodium and they are the national sponsor for the American Heart Association, Cheerios among others have false claims on their products and after so many years NOW the FDA has chosen to do something about it. The food industry doesn't always have our best interests in mind so we as consumers should be asking questions, doing research or hire someone to do it for you (like me) he he, or simply reading labels. One can learn so much and be so empowered by knowledge, the kind of power that gives you the upper hand; we can boycott a product just like congress veto's against more money for health care and schools. The media and our society have blinded us from seeing the true colors of processed foods and sugar coma induced drinks that we consume everyday, if you knew that there was rat poison in your gum would you still chew it or what if you knew there was high fructose corn syrup in 90% of the food/drinks you ingest? This is something to think about!

Proof that you can be healed through food

Once upon a time there was a man named Nathan Pritikin who was diagnosed with Coronary Heart Disease at the age of 40 in 1957 now keep in mind in the 60's there were more men dying of heart attacks then there is today. Nathan believed he could cure himself with Diet and exercise and he did!!! nine years on his own program of food and exercise as medicine he actually reversed Heart Disease! it can be done. He opened a clinic named Pritikin Longevity Center in Aventura; Florida where others have been cured through the same program that healed him. Patients that went in with type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis left with out the diseases. Nathan had no medical background and he was able to accomplish what the medical community wants to think of as impossible but we know better. When he died he left standing orders for an autopsy to be performed and what was discovered was amazing there were no signs of CAD his arteries were like that of a young man. Here is Pritikins website: http://www.pritikin.com/eperspective/specialissues/pritikinatkins/ Awareness and knowledge can save our lives, be conscience of what you put in your mouth and cherish the body that takes such good care of you. Your heart beats and pumps blood through your body, your digestive system gets the nutrients your body needs to survive and your liver works harder than any other organ to do more than you could imagine... here is a link to give you an idea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver

Well that is all I wanted to share for today but I will keep you posted!
