I have recently watched a few movies that deserve attention from the masses. As Americans with plenty to keep us busy we tend to forget or not be aware of what is happening in our world that present an immediate danger to our lives such as having mercury fillings, eating a foods with MSG or washing our teeth with flouride products. I have been told you shouldn't fear everything and I agree that kind of life would suck but I do believe on making educated decisions and for me, its better knowing whether something is good or bad for me rather than overconsume something and then find out later in life that it was slowly damaging my health or killing me slowing. Some of the movie/documentaries that I loved where Food Inc., The Beautiful Truth and Food Matters.
I am so grateful to these film makers for making these movies available so that I can make a decision for myself about so many valid topics relating to holistic health and wellness. We all make time for what is important in life and make excuses for not having time to eat well, live well and be well but I challenge you to take some time to check out these movies on Netflix or Amazon Prime so that you can open your eyes to what is going on with our agriculture that is affecting our food, our Fast food that is affecting you and your family and so much more!

Environmental Health & Wellness
Have you ever been ill, gone to your Doctor and have left just as clueless as you went in? I know I have and it is extremely frustrating! This is why I want each one of you out there to be an informed patient the next time you visit your Physician. There are many environmental toxins in our county, in our workplace and in our homes that we just don't know about and all I want is for people to be able to make informed decisions about their health.
Environmental toxins can be harmful for your immune, endocrine and neurological sytems and here are some of the symptoms of environmental overload:
Immune system: allergies, asthma, chemical sensitivity and autoimmunity
Endocrine system: hypothyroid, infertility
Nervous system: mood, memory, brain fog, headaches and balance
There are too many possible reasons for these symptoms to list here which is why it is so hard to find the root cause of the problem but I will list as many as possible to get you thinking about your surroundings. Here are some:
- Workplace- heating / ventilation system (check to see if there have been any problems or open work orders)
- Residence- heating / ventilation, furnace filters, remodeling (new furniture, new carpeting, anything new that is brought into your home), chemicals used in the home, mold, mildew
- Hobbies- your hobbies or the hobbies of each family member in the home (model airplanes, etc.)
- Local agriculture- pesticides, airbourne chemicals
- School- asbestos, lead
- Dry cleaning, household cleaners, humidifiers, and so much more
Visit Scorecard.org to learn about the toxins released in your zip code.
The reason for this post is not to scare the bejeezes out of you but to inform and educate you. We cannot count on manufacturers of products to inform us of the hazardous effects of their products, therefore we as consumers and unfortunately patients need to protect ourselves and our families and friends from the toxins in our everyday life. If you believe you suffer from a toxic overload due to your symptoms and would like a consultation and testing specifically for toxicity visit my website

When it comes to your health, try to think outside the box and create a timeline of when the symptoms began - where did you live, work at the time. It will help figure out what, when, where and how this began. Be informed and be well.

Consumer Awareness
Awareness....it is key in the fight against obesity! as I do research I am truly amazed at what we are eating and the ads behind it. Subway sandwiches are jam packed with sodium and they are the national sponsor for the American Heart Association, Cheerios among others have false claims on their products and after so many years NOW the FDA has chosen to do something about it. The food industry doesn't always have our best interests in mind so we as consumers should be asking questions, doing research or hire someone to do it for you (like me) he he, or simply reading labels. One can learn so much and be so empowered by knowledge, the kind of power that gives you the upper hand; we can boycott a product just like congress veto's against more money for health care and schools. The media and our society have blinded us from seeing the true colors of processed foods and sugar coma induced drinks that we consume everyday, if you knew that there was rat poison in your gum would you still chew it or what if you knew there was high fructose corn syrup in 90% of the food/drinks you ingest? This is something to think about!
